About

The First Preparatory Meeting of the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum dedicated to “Promoting comprehensive security, stability and sustainable development in the OSCE area through women’s economic empowerment will take place in Vienna on 15 and 16 February 2021 via Zoom and will focus on the following topics:

  • Promoting policy and legislative measures that lead to women’s equal economic participation and opportunities
  • Building women’s human capital 
  • Promoting women’s equal participation in the labour market
  • Supporting women’s equal access to economic assets and financial goods and services

First Preparatory Meeting of the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum is organized by the 2021 Swedish OSCE Chairpersonship and the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities.

The Economic and Environmental Forum is the main meeting-cycle within the Economic and Environmental  Dimension of the OSCE. Its objectives are to identify needs and priorities, to raise awareness and to stimulate the political will of the 57 OSCE participating States  in dealing with economic, environmental and security related challenges, to share best practices, as well as to provide a platform for dialogue with representatives of International Organizations, the business and academic communities, and civil society.

In 2021, the First Preparatory Meeting will be followed by a Second Preparatory Meeting in Stockholm, on 10-11 June 2021. The Concluding Meeting is foreseen in Prague on 09-10 September 2021.
