The OSCE, in co-operation with the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) of the Republic of Moldova, organized an Anti-Corruption Café on 7 October 2026, bringing together young people and practitioners to discuss whistleblowing and the importance of safe reporting mechanisms.

Representatives of the NAC and the People’s Advocate (Ombudsperson) Office shared practical information on available reporting channels, confidentiality and protection for whistleblowers. NAC representatives Stela Rusu and Grigore Lupascu encouraged young people to speak up against wrongdoing and highlighted the importance of personal integrity and responsibility.

“It takes courage to speak up and act. Speaking up can change things for the better, not only for you, but also for others,” said Stela Rusu, Deputy Head of the Directorate for International Cooperation and European Integration at the NAC.

The interactive discussion provided participants with an opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the institutions responsible for protecting whistleblowers. It also contributed to the OSCE’s efforts to engage young people in preventing corruption and promoting integrity, recognizing them as active contributors to more transparent and accountable institutions and communities.

This activity was conducted as part of the extrabudgetary project “Supporting Anti-Corruption Efforts of the Government of Moldova”, implemented by the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities.
