Our mandate on good economic governance

In 2003 with the adoption of the OSCE Strategy Document for the Economic and Environmental Dimension at the Ministerial Council in Maastricht, participating States committed to co-operating on economic, good governance and sustainable development issues. The strategy document states “Good governance on the international as well as the national level is crucial for well-being, security and stability in the OSCE region”.

Following the Maastricht Strategy Document for the Economic and Environmental Dimension, the OSCE has adopted over the years several important decisions and declarations.

The Decision on Human Capital Development in the Digital Era showed strong political commitment and enhanced the mandate of the OSCE to promote good governance, and combat corruption, money laundering and terrorism financing.
