Second Preparatory Meeting of the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum

The Second Preparatory Meeting of the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum dedicated to “Promoting comprehensive security, stability and sustainable development in the OSCE area through women’s economic empowerment” will take place in Stockholm on 10-11 June 2021 and will focus on the following topics:

• Economic empowerment of women as an important element in promoting comprehensive security, stability and sustainable development in the OSCE area, and the role of relevant stakeholders in achieving this goal
• Promoting women’s entrepreneurship and equal participation in business and in trade
• Promoting sustainable development by empowering women and girls as contributors to the protection of the environment
• Empowering women in trade and transport facilitation

Second Preparatory Meeting of the 29th OSCE Economic and Environmental Forum is organized by the 2021 Swedish OSCE Chairpersonship and the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities.

The Economic and Environmental Forum is the main meeting-cycle within the Economic and Environmental  Dimension of the OSCE. Its objectives are to identify needs and priorities, to raise awareness and to stimulate the political will of the 57 OSCE participating States  in dealing with economic, environmental and security related challenges, to share best practices, as well as to provide a platform for dialogue with representatives of International Organizations, the business and academic communities, and civil society.

The Concluding Meeting is foreseen in Prague on 9-10 September 2021.
