Overview

Ensuring connectivity for States to participate in global economic growth

With the rapidly changing landscape of global trade, ensuring connectivity among economies has become crucial to participating in global economic growth, thereby strengthening stability and security. Connectivity allows countries to access new markets, reduce the risks of isolation, foster innovation and address global challenges, such as climate change and security threats.

Our work

Our thematic and programmatic tasks

The Office of the Co-ordinator supports the OSCE participating States in strengthening their connectivity, particularly in Central Asia, the Caspian Sea region and Eastern Europe, with a focus on cross-border e-commerce, transit co-ordination and paperless trade. It also works on fostering greater bilateral and regional co-operation between customs and border agencies, by promoting the exchange of best practices on data-sharing and the co-ordinated management of borders. Additionally, the Office provides policymakers and practitioners with tools and guidance material on trade and transport facilitation.
