On 13-14 December 2024, the OSCE journey across Central Asia on the Water-Energy-Food Nexus made its fourth stop in Koy-Tash, Kyrgyzstan, gathering a group of motivated young professionals committed to building a more sustainable future.

Focusing on the participants’ shared vision, the workshop facilitated discussions on the region’s interconnected challenges, including the growing impact of climate change on security. A field visit to “BaiElim” food processing facility provided practical insights on how food systems can support broader development goals.

The key takeaways from the participants’ evolving Declaration include:

  1. The unifying power of water is central to overcoming shared challenges and advancing sustainable development
  2. Innovation and data, when applied effectively, can engage diverse communities, enrich dialogue and support integrated solutions to WEF trade-offs
  3. Intergenerational and cross-regional collaboration can serve as a powerful source of mutual inspiration and continuous learning

The workshop reaffirmed the importance of inclusive, youth-driven dialogue in building resilience and sustainability across Central Asia. With this fourth edition, the “Drops of the Future” series continues to grow as a platform for regional cooperation, innovation, and forward-thinking solutions.
